A colleague and professor at UMKC AUP+D invited me to vision a new engagement platform for community leaders. The Center for Neighborhood carries the tradition of those that have come before us seeking to improve their community one block at a time.
I created the mark, using the analogy of the arrow pointing to the 'Center', but also the arrow as a home and the grouping as a neighborhood, getting feedback from leaders, and sending that back out to emerging neighborhoods.
We expanded the metaphor further, tying each quadrant to the category of learning; Leadership and Governance, Planning and Development, Health and Safety, Communication and Technology.
Through 3 cohorts of dozens of community leaders we empowered individuals and their neighborhoods through fellowship and original concepts like Sister Neighborhoods.
